Since the beginning of 2020, 1 road traffic accident caused by a two-wheeled vehicle driver has been registered in our region. It occurred on March 6 in the village of Gurets, Chashniksky district. A 31-year-old driver, while driving a "MMVZ" motorcycle, lost control on a road bend, resulting in a collision with a power line pole. It should be noted that the young man was intoxicated at the time of the accident and did not possess a driving license in principle. The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was hospitalised.

According to the Traffic Regulations, a bicycle is a vehicle propelled by human muscular force. And the person operating it is a driver. Like all other road users, cyclists are obliged to comply with the established Traffic Regulations. Namely:

- up to 14 years of age, it is permitted to ride only on sidewalks, shoulders, cycle paths, or pedestrian paths, without creating obstacles for the safe movement of pedestrians;

- from 14 years of age, cyclists are allowed to ride on the roadway in a single line no further than 1 meter from its right edge. Exceptions include overtaking an obstacle and cases of turning left or making a U-turn;

- when riding on the road at night or in conditions of poor visibility, the bicycle must be equipped with: a headlight (lamp) emitting white light at the front, and a lamp emitting red light at the rear;

- when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing, the cyclist must walk the bicycle next to them;

- outside of intersections, at an unregulated crossing of a cycle path with a road, the cyclist is obliged to yield to vehicles moving on that road;

Dear cyclists! Riding a bicycle can not only strengthen your health but also preserve it. To do this, you must know and comply with the Traffic Regulations.
