To reveal the "Secret of Safety," the audience had to decipher silhouettes of various objects appearing on the screen. The organized event proved interesting to everyone, as participants engaged in dialogue and actively took part in all the proposed contests. The game provided participants with an opportunity to recall the main causes of fires and receive advice from rescuers on how to avoid trouble.
The first topic of discussion was careless handling of fire, particularly during smoking. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations cited examples of tragedies caused by this in the Lepel district and reminded attendees that tragedy most often befalls those who adhere to the principle of "drink, smoke, sleep."
The next topic addressed electrical safety issues. Here, rescuers focused on problems such as overloading the electrical network, using non-factory-made electrical appliances, and using electrical appliances that have exceeded their service life.
The seasonal topic of stove heating was also touched upon and studied in detail. Participants had the opportunity to identify violations on a model of a "dangerous stove" and familiarize themselves with the internal components of a heating appliance.
Food left on the stove is another common cause of fires. Therefore, by staging a common household situation that could happen to any homemaker in the kitchen, rescuers explained what readily available kitchen items could be used to extinguish burning oil in a frying pan.
To detect emergencies in a timely manner, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recommended that all attendees install an autonomous fire detector in each living room.
At the end of the event, through an open dialogue, attendees concluded that the main secret of safety lies in
elementary compliance with fire safety regulations.
