On October 11, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Trade union leaders from Vitebsk, Smolensk and Pskov regions will discuss demographic security issues. A joint meeting of the presidiums of trade union associations of three neighboring regions of Belarus and Russia will be held on October 11-12 in Orsha, the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association, Alexander Tsylev, told a BELTA correspondent. During the meeting, trade union leaders will discuss interaction with state administration bodies to improve the demographic situation in the regions. Leaders of sectoral trade union associations will exchange experience in supporting young families and share best practices in organizing health improvement and disease prevention systems. For example, in the Vitebsk region, trade union committees, when concluding collective agreements, come up with initiatives to provide one-time financial assistance to newlyweds, young parents, and large families. Increasingly, collective agreements include a clause on encouraging employees to give up bad habits and involve them in active physical activities. As Leonid Tsylev noted, joint meetings of the presidiums of trade union associations of Vitebsk, Smolensk and Pskov regions are held in accordance with a trilateral cooperation agreement. It is expected that the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Leonid Kozik, will take part in the Orsha meeting. -0-
