Trade union legal consultations for citizens will resume on September 19 after the summer break, the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus informed BELTA.
More than a hundred legal labor inspectors of the FTUB will provide free legal assistance to citizens throughout the country. Lawyers will consult everyone interested on issues related to the protection of labor rights and socio-economic interests. Consultations will be held both in district and city trade union associations, as well as in organizations located in these territories.
The venue and time of the consultations can be found on the Internet portal of the FTUB, as well as by calling the trade union organizations of your city or district.
In the first half of 2019, trade union lawyers received more than 2,000 people at consultations and provided clarifications on labor and related issues. At the request of employees, 388 procedural and other documents were prepared, including 305 for judicial bodies and 44 applications to labor dispute commissions. With the direct participation of trade unions, 23 people were reinstated in their jobs. At the request of legal inspectors and trade union representatives, over Br900 thousand of illegally withheld or unpaid amounts were returned to employees in six months.
Since November 2017, prosecutors have joined trade union lawyers during legal consultations. This form of work allows for more prompt resolution of the problems of applicants. Priority areas of cooperation between the two structures have become employers' compliance with labor guarantees, the procedure and timing of wage payments, as well as all amounts due to an employee upon dismissal.-0-
