On October 29, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard reports from Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, and Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The central topic of the National Bank Chairman's report was the elaboration of the programme for the socio-economic development of Belarus until 2030. A working group led by Roman Golovchenko is working on this, and the refined document is to be submitted to the President by November 1. The Head of State was today briefed on the main content of the programme, the key industries and sectors that are being focused on. The document in its final form is planned to be submitted for approval to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the session of which will be held on December 18 and 19 this year.
Another topic of Roman Golovchenko's report was the practical implementation of the instructions given at the meeting between the President, the staff of the National Bank and the management of banks, held in mid-September. In particular, the implementation of the task for greater involvement of the banking system in the economic development of the country. This includes the resource base and issues of inflation.
The Chairman of the National Bank also reported on the decisions developed regarding problematic issues within the competence of the National Bank. In particular, on topics that have public resonance and on appeals received from Belarusians.
Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik, reported on the progress of preparations for the meeting of the President with the scientific community. It was emphasized that the scientific sphere, among other things, must make a significant contribution to the implementation of the country's development tasks in the upcoming five-year period. The focus is on practice-oriented developments, strengthening the link between science and production, import substitution and increasing export potential, and mastering innovative areas in demand in the real sector.
The head of the NAS also informed the President about specific projects and developments on the topics of which the head of state had previously given instructions.
