Belarus-UN Cooperation Programme on Industrial Development for 2013-2017 Approved in Belarus

April 22, Minsk /BELTA/. The framework cooperation programme between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization for 2013-2017 has been approved in Belarus. The relevant decision is contained in the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of April 18, current year, No. 369, as reported by the press service of the Belarusian government.

According to the document, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus will coordinate and monitor the implementation of this programme.

The resolution also approved 6 international technical assistance projects, including: "Enhancing the Efficiency and Transparency of Public Finance Management System in the Republic of Belarus", "East-West European Network for Higher Technical Education", "Inter-academic Network Erasmus Mundus", "Development of Technical Cooperation on Nuclear Safety in the Area of Regulatory Body Support", "Emergency Assistance for the Control of African Swine Fever Outbreaks in the Republic of Belarus", and "Environmental Protection of International River Basins". They were approved based on proposals from the Commission on International Technical Cooperation under the Council of Ministers of Belarus.

The document also establishes that the Ministry of Finance will coordinate and monitor the implementation of the project "Enhancing the Efficiency and Transparency of Public Finance Management System in the Republic of Belarus"; the Ministry of Education will coordinate and monitor the projects "East-West European Network for Higher Technical Education" and "Inter-academic Network Erasmus Mundus"; the Ministry of Emergency Situations will coordinate and monitor the project "Development of Technical Cooperation on Nuclear Safety in the Area of Regulatory Body Support"; the Ministry of Agriculture and Food will coordinate and monitor the project "Emergency Assistance for the Control of African Swine Fever Outbreaks in the Republic of Belarus". The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection shall monitor the implementation of the international technical assistance project "Environmental Protection of International River Basins".
