In 2011, the incidence of tuberculosis in the district was 13 cases (2010 - 12), which amounts to 37.4% (2010 - 33.09%) of cases per 100,000 population. Of the 13 newly diagnosed patients, all had respiratory tuberculosis. Since the beginning of the current year, two cases of relapse have been registered. Of the 13 newly diagnosed patients, 9 were rural residents (69.2%), and four were urban residents (30.8%); 10 were men, and 3 were women; five were employed, 3 were pensioners, and 5 were unemployed.

All groups include individuals abusing alcohol and unemployed citizens, which creates difficulties in locating and treating them. All newly diagnosed patients, as well as those under dispensary observation, with deteriorating health, were sent for treatment to the regional base hospitals, followed by continuation of the course of treatment on an outpatient basis.

One patient was sent for compulsory treatment in 2011.

Cases of late-diagnosed tuberculosis are investigated with the application of administrative measures. The District Department of Internal Affairs provides practical assistance in involving at-risk individuals in examinations at the tuberculosis cabinet, escorting patients for compulsory treatment by court order, and providing lists of individuals released from places of deprivation of liberty.

The low cultural level and underestimation of preventive examinations among rural residents lead to the development of bacillary forms of tuberculosis. This circumstance is very dangerous for others and leads to their infection. Therefore, an annual planned fluorographic examination of rural residents is carried out using the mobile fluorographic unit "Pulmoexpress".

For the treatment of tuberculosis patients, anti-tuberculosis drugs worth 7.6 million rubles were purchased last year using funds from the local budget. In 2011, 98 patients were treated, and in 2010, 100 patients were treated.

The District Executive Committee has obliged the chairpersons of rural executive committees and the heads of agricultural organizations to assist in the fluorographic examination of the rural population, as well as in providing transport for people from distant villages.
