"For January-September 2022, the volume of import-substituting products manufactured amounted to $737.5 million, which is 14.1% higher than the figure for the same period in 2021. For 9 months, products from enterprises in the northern region were exported for $497.6 million. The notional saving of foreign currency due to the supply of products to the domestic market amounted to $91.6 million. For 2023, the task has been set to ensure a 4.8% increase in the production volume of import-substituting products compared to the 2022 level," the regional executive committee noted.
In 2022, import substitution efforts were actively pursued at the region's leading enterprises. For example, the Evistor plant mastered electromechanical drives and components for the Rostselmash combine harvester plant. One of the enterprises began producing compact current and voltage transformers of 0.66-1 kV for installation in feeders for the Sverdlovsk Transformer Plant.
Specialists also noted that in 2023, it is planned to ensure an overall increase in industrial production volumes by 1.7% compared to 2022 through the production and sale of products, including import-substituting ones, both domestically and in the markets of friendly countries. Work will continue on building new logistics chains and settlement systems. An increase in the share of added value in the production volume is planned to be achieved through the modernisation and technical re-equipment of existing facilities.
