The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution in court under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

A previously convicted 47-year-old native of Bogushevsk, on one of the days in June 2019, after consuming alcoholic beverages, decided to visit his mother-in-law in the village of Chernoruchye, Lepel District. To get to his mother-in-law's, he decided to ask his acquaintance for a bicycle. Entering the acquaintance's house, he realised she was not at home, only her mother was there, whom the native of Bogushevsk did not know. Leaving the house, he decided to steal the two-wheeled vehicle anyway. For this purpose, he returned to the house, took the bicycle from the hallway, and rode it to his mother-in-law's in the village of Chernoruchye. The next day, the native of Bogushevsk dismantled it, planning to use the spare parts for his own needs. Three days later, when police officers arrived, the native of Bogushevsk confessed to the theft and returned the stolen property to the victim.

Both during the preliminary investigation and the court proceedings, the native of Bogushevsk fully admitted his guilt in stealing the bicycle.

The court of Lepel District found the native of Bogushevsk guilty of committing the crime stipulated by Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 2 years of correctional labour with a 20% deduction from his earnings to the state revenue. In accordance with Part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code, compulsory measures for the security and treatment of chronic alcoholism were applied.
