The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution in court under Article 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
A previously unconvicted 37-year-old native of Lepel, on one of the days in June 2019, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, on the bank of the Essa River, intentionally began to obstruct the lawful activities of an employee of the internal affairs department of the Lepel District Executive Committee, who was in uniform and was detaining citizen P. in that location for appearing in a public place in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The native of Lepel began to use obscene language, uttered threats, pushed the police officer away from citizen P., a close acquaintance of hers, and inflicted at least one kick to the officer's left arm, causing less severe bodily harm.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the court proceedings, the native of Lepel fully admitted her guilt in committing violence against an internal affairs officer with the aim of obstructing lawful activities.
Taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District found the native of Lepel guilty of committing a crime under Article 364 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced her to restriction of liberty without direction to an open-type correctional institution for a term of 1 year and 6 months. In accordance with paragraph 2 of part 1 of Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amnesty in connection with the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders" dated 19.07.2019, the native of Lepel was partially exempted from the punishment of restriction of liberty for a term of 1 year.
This sentence of the Lepel District Court has entered into legal force.
