The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution against a 20-year-old local resident under Part 2 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (malicious hooliganism).

The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution against a 20-year-old local resident under Part 2 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (malicious hooliganism).

According to the case materials, in January of the current year, the young man, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, in a public place – near a bar located in Lepel town, intentionally, without cause, out of hooligan motives, grossly violating public order
and expressing clear disrespect for society, disregarding generally accepted norms of behaviour and communication with people in society, contrasting his personality above the interests of society and others, exhibiting drunken bravado, boasting, seeking to demonstrate his physical superiority
and capacity for outrage with the aim of suppressing and humiliating the honour
and dignity of a man unknown to him, struck the latter with his hand
to the head area, causing less severe bodily harm
on the grounds of prolonged health disorder in the form of a fracture of the anterior wall of the orbit.

In the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District passed a guilty verdict.

Based on Part 2 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the accused was sentenced to a fine of
100 base units, amounting to 4,500 rubles.

The verdict has entered into legal force.
