The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution under Part 2 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

A previously unconvicted 35-year-old citizen, residing in Lepel, who was obligated by a court order of the Lepel District Court to pay expenses for the maintenance of minor children into the state revenue, and who was employed, embarked on the path of evading reimbursement of expenses for the maintenance of his minor children, resulting in over 30 unauthorised absences from work.

As a result of the actions of the Lepel resident, the state, represented by educational institutions, did not receive over 170 Belarusian rubles spent on the maintenance of the accused's minor children during the period from March 2020 to June 2020.

The court recognised the accused's sincere remorse for the committed crime as a mitigating circumstance.

No aggravating circumstances were established by the court.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court found the accused guilty of the crime provided for by Part 2 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and imposed a penalty in the form of 180 hours of community service.

The sentence has entered into legal force.
