17 January, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office is launching the Year of Thrift with monitoring the use of state property, the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor Gennady Dysko told a BELTA correspondent.
According to him, taking into account the declaration of 2013 as the Year of Thrift, a decision was made in December 2012 to monitor the condition of state property. "Our actions are precisely monitoring, not inspections," emphasized Gennady Dysko, explaining that employees have been tasked with travelling to farms, dairy complexes, construction sites, warehouses, and machine yards with specialists to assess the thrift and efficiency of managers.
The monitoring results, along with all collected materials which are currently being summarised, will be reviewed in February at a major coordination meeting with representatives of all interested departments. "The situation observed deserves the harshest criticism: broken windows, tractors with ploughs abandoned in the fields, scattered fertilisers, and so on. The meeting will provide a principled assessment of all instances of mismanagement," the regional prosecutor stressed.
Furthermore, during the Year of Thrift, the prosecutor's offices intend to pay close attention to issues of supervision over tender procedures, fund allocation, and the efficient use of state property, Gennady Dysko added. -0-
