29 March, Vitebsk /BELTA/. The prosecutor's office has identified a number of violations in the operation of kindergartens in the Vitebsk region, Irina Kryukovskaya, Assistant Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Region for Supervision over the Enforcement of Legislation on Minors and Youth, told BELTA.
Violations were established during an inspection of the enforcement of legislation aimed at protecting children's rights by preschool educational institutions. Thus, in some kindergartens in Vitebsk, Braslav districts, and Vitebsk city, the procedure for admitting pupils was not observed. In some preschool educational institutions in the regional centre, Polotsk, Polotsk, Braslav, Miory, and Ushachi districts, the norms for the number of children in groups were not maintained. Cases of non-compliance with the temperature regime, improper fencing of the territory, defects in metal equipment on playgrounds, and the need for repairs to building facades, canopies, verandas, and terraces were also identified.
Issues related to fire safety in a number of preschool institutions in Shumilino, Glubokoe, Vitebsk, Polotsk, Tolochin, Sharkovshchina, Postavy, Senno districts, Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, Orsha, and Polotsk are of current importance. Problems related to room lighting, children's catering, the condition of food blocks and sanitary units were identified in individual kindergartens in Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Orsha, Polotsk, Rossony, Sharkovshchina, Vitebsk, Gorodok, Miory, Dubrovno, Lepel, Postavy, Liozno, Senno, Braslav, and Shumilino districts.
During the implementation of programmes for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of children in a socially dangerous situation, officials of educational institutions committed acts of improper organisation of work with families in which children are in a socially dangerous situation, and violations of the requirements for the procedure for identifying minors in need of state protection, noted Irina Kryukovskaya.
