The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution in court under Part 1 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
A negligent father, a resident of the village of Pyshno, Lepel District, born in 1976, is obligated by a court order to pay alimony for the maintenance of his minor children: daughter E., born in 2001, and son D., born in 2004. From January 2017 to April 2019, he intentionally evaded payment of funds for the maintenance of his minor children for more than three months within a year, and from April 2019 to mid-October 2019, for the maintenance of his minor son D. For more than five years, he has not officially worked anywhere, has not taken any measures to find employment, pay off arrears, or disburse funds for child maintenance. As a result, he has accumulated an alimony debt of 26 months and 12 days, thereby significantly violating the constitutional right of his children to a decent standard of living, including adequate food, clothing, housing, and the continuous improvement of the conditions necessary for this.
During the preliminary and judicial investigation, the resident of the village of Pyshno fully admitted his guilt in the committed act and sincerely repented.
Taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District found the resident of the village of Pyshno guilty of committing the crime provided for by Part 1 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to correctional labour for a term of 240 hours.
This sentence of the court of Lepel District has entered into legal force.
