The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District, during an inspection of utility payments for rental housing, identified violations of housing legislation in the activities of KUPP "Borovka".
Following the inspection, it was established that there were instances of incorrect indication of the total floor area of residential premises in tenancy agreements, which led to incorrect calculation and charging of utility fees and rent for the leased premises.
Specifically, specialists of KUPP "Borovka" overestimated the total floor area of several rental apartments in Lepel District by including unheated areas (balconies). As a result, for several years, the calculation centre incorrectly charged fees for utilities and the use of residential premises.
For reference. According to clause 30, Article 1 of the Housing Code of the Republic of Belarus, the total floor area of a residential premise is the sum of the living area and the floor area of auxiliary premises, excluding the floor area of balconies, loggias, terraces, and unheated (cold) premises.
Based on the inspection results, the District Prosecutor submitted a representation to the Lepel District Executive Committee on the elimination of violations, their causes, and contributing factors. Following the consideration of the representation, a recalculation of rent for residential premises was carried out, and 3 officials were subjected to disciplinary action.
