This was announced by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a regional meeting on the development of the industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, problematic issues of organisations, and ways to improve their performance.
— In the Vitebsk region, industrial organisations have a significant impact on the development of the entire region. Today, over a thousand economic entities of various forms of ownership operate in industry, accounting for more than 15 percent of the total republican production volume.
Over 5 years, it has been possible to maintain production volumes for industry as a whole in comparable conditions compared to 2015, and to ensure the effective operation of the industrial complex. In all years of the past five-year period, a high share of shipped innovative products has been maintained. In 2020, industrial enterprises of the region produced and shipped innovative products worth 4.3 billion rubles. In the total volume, the share of innovative products was 32.8 percent.
There are reserves for improving performance, increasing production volumes, reducing costs, and enhancing product competitiveness at practically every enterprise, — noted Nikolai Sherstnev.
