The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District supported the state prosecution in court in a criminal case against a previously repeatedly convicted 46-year-old resident of Lepel District. He is charged with secret property theft (larceny) committed repeatedly, with unlawful entry into a dwelling.
According to the case materials, on December 5, 2024, between 09:00 and 13:00, the accused, with the intent to intentionally, gratuitously, and unlawfully seize the victim's property by theft, tore off the handle from the door leaf of one entrance door, broke off the padlock on the second entrance door using an unidentified object, and entered the house. From there, he secretly stole property belonging to the victim to a total amount of 615 rubles, after which he absconded from the scene of the crime with the stolen property.
The accused fully admitted his guilt in court and expressed sincere remorse for the committed crime.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, as well as the identity of the offender, the Lepel District Court rendered a guilty verdict.
Pursuant to Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the "recidivist" was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment, to be served in a correctional colony under a strict regime.
The accused was ordered to pay the victim property damage in the amount of 435 rubles, as well as state duty in the amount of 84 rubles.
In addition, compulsory measures for the treatment of chronic alcoholism were applied to the man.
The verdict has entered into legal force.
