The competition commenced with a welcome for the participating teams, followed by the "Extinguish the Fire" contest, where the children used buckets to put out a "flaming" house. In the "Fire – Friend, Fire – Foe" contest, the children solved "fire safety" riddles and demonstrated their knowledge of actions to take in various emergency situations. The teams also competed in their ability to don firefighter-rescuer protective gear, call the fire service, and in the search and transportation of a casualty.
