In execution of the decision of the coordination meeting on combating crime and corruption in the Vitebsk region dated 22.12.2016, the Prosecutor's Office of the Vitebsk region conducted a comprehensive inspection on March 10, 2017, for compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities" in the Lepel district. During the inspection, meetings of the Lepel city council and nine rural councils of public order protection points were held, attended by employees of the prosecutor's office, staff of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Lepel District Executive Committee, employees of the Vitebsk Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Lepel District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Polotsk City District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ushachi District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as representatives of other crime prevention entities.
Citizens who regularly violate public order, abuse alcoholic beverages, as well as homeowners (tenants) who violate fire safety regulations were invited to be considered at the meetings of the public order protection points. During the meetings, a total of 72 citizens were considered, including 31 for identified violations of fire safety regulations in their homes and apartments. Preventive discussions were held with these citizens regarding the inadmissibility of alcohol abuse, the need to comply with fire safety regulations and bring their properties into a fire-safe condition, and specific deadlines for eliminating the identified violations were established.
