For instance, on 08.04.2020 in Brest District, an explosion occurred during the dismantling of a smoke artillery shell, resulting in bodily injuries to citizen Chugaevich A.D. During the investigation, it was established that the ammunition and its components were collected by the citizen in the vicinity of the training ground of military unit 96616 in Brest.
A similar incident was registered this year in Byaroza, where on 04.03.2020, citizen Zhukov A.M. was injured on his personal plot as a result of an aircraft fuze explosion, and also on 16.01.2020 in Baranovichi, resulting in injuries to three citizens, one of whom suffered an amputation of the lower extremities at the shin level.
By Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 14.04.2020 No. 220, amendments were made to the Regulation on the procedure for establishing the sizes and boundaries of safety zones of training grounds and military firing ranges of the armed forces, and the regime of economic and other activities in these zones, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 13.09.2013 No. 810 "On certain issues of ensuring the activities of training grounds and military firing ranges of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus." The aforementioned Regulation has been supplemented with provisions that:
define the concept of "training ground (military firing range) boundary";
stipulate requirements for information signs designating the boundaries of training grounds (military firing ranges) and their safety zones, with the mandatory display of a clearly expressed prohibition of passage onto them;
establish a prohibition on the presence of the public and persons not related to the operational and combat training activities of troops (forces) within the boundaries of the safety zones of training grounds and military firing ranges during their conduct, and within the boundaries of the training ground (military firing range) – permanently.
On the territory of Lepel District, in the forest massif near the village of Zaslonovo, the "Lepelsky" training ground of the 19th separate guards mechanized brigade is located. The total area of the training ground's safety zone is 1117 hectares.
