Transparent ballot boxes will replace traditional ones in the Vitebsk region by the elections of deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the fifth convocation. This was announced today at a joint meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, where the issue of forming district election commissions was considered, by the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. Despite significant financial costs, the authorities intend to find funds so that as many polling stations as possible are equipped with transparent ballot boxes. The chairman of the regional executive committee gave instructions on creating the necessary conditions for the activities of district commissions: providing furniture, office equipment, and communication. Polling stations will also be put in order. "The elections of deputies will undoubtedly be held transparently and democratically, in accordance with the current legislation. The will of the people will determine the elected officials who will define the internal and external policy of the state, and create the laws by which the country will develop," said Alexander Kosinets. -0-
