Free Meals
One of the in-demand types of state targeted social assistance remains the provision of food products for children under two years of age. In the first half of the year alone, 92 children in our district received this assistance to the amount of 228 million 470 thousand rubles. Last year, 190 children were provided with free meals to the amount of over 500 million rubles.
Mushrooms – For Your Health
As reported by the State Institution "Lepel District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology", no cases of mushroom poisoning have been registered in our district this year. Incidentally, a similar favourable situation was observed last year as well. However, specialists advise not to neglect elementary rules: pick familiar, undamaged mushrooms. Children under six years of age should not eat these forest gifts, as their bodies do not produce the enzymes necessary for digesting mushrooms.
International Sessions
The summer was rich in international guests for the Children's Rehabilitation and Health Centre "Zhemchuzhina". On its premises, the Moscow Centre for Continuous Mathematical Education held a training camp for a physics and mathematics school. 300 children from Russia and the Vitebsk region participated. One hundred young mathematicians from Russia, Iran, Croatia, Germany, and Canada were gathered for the summer conference of the International Mathematical Tournament. Gymnasts from Moscow and St. Petersburg also visited the Lepel region.
Holiday Tours
Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece – these are popular countries among Lepel residents who used the services of the travel agency "Lepel-Tour" during the holiday season. Our compatriots also visited Italy, Croatia, Germany, and France. Among the Crimean destinations, Yevpatoria and Nikolaevka were the most in-demand. The early booking promotion, which helped those who planned their holidays in winter or spring to save money, was a great success. For the most budget-friendly tour – to Nikolaevka – Lepel residents paid 150 dollars, while the most expensive one – to Israel – cost 2000 dollars.
