Vitebsk Region Students Receive Vouchers for Labour Summer

BRSM offers broad employment opportunities, including abroad. As noted by Vladimir Babichev, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of BRSM, this year it is planned to employ over 5,000 people in student work teams of various profiles.

In the summer park of the regional museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union M. Shmyrev, a ceremony was held for the presentation of vouchers for "Labour Summer – 2021". Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, gave parting words to the participants.

– May this summer become a time for you to find a friend, socialise, and grow closer, – said Vladimir Petrovich. – After all, besides work, there will be time for rest. May your work be beneficial to you.

According to Vladimir Babichev, a student work team is not only an opportunity to spend summer holidays in an interesting and beneficial way, but also to make new acquaintances, find friends, gain invaluable experience, acquire useful skills, and receive a good salary and benefits from the university.

He also noted that the regional youth construction projects will be Gagarin Street in Vitebsk and the building of the Polotsk Cadet School. Incidentally, students from PSU, who are united in the first archaeological team, will be involved in the reconstruction and repair work of the latter.

This year, mobile student work teams will also resume their activities. Recently, young people from Vitebsk will begin their work at the All-Russian Centre "Orlyonok". There, 90 students will be provided with jobs in service teams, and 14 in pedagogical teams.

Two teams from Polotsk State University – "Evrika" and "Zodchie" – will work from June to August at the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Project in Ostrovets.

From June to August, three teams formed from students of VSU named after P. Masherov, VSTU, and Polotsk State University will gain work experience at the "Atlant" enterprise. It should be noted that there were many who wished to join. Last year, the monthly salary of the team members was 1,000 rubles, and students were provided with free accommodation. They had the opportunity to use the gym and swimming pool.

Zoya Krot, a veteran of the Komsomol movement, wished the young people success in their upcoming labour semester, good wages, deserved awards and respect, and a great mood upon their return to studies.

Future student brigade members participated in a walking tour along the route Lenin Street – Suvorov Street – to the Regional Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union M. Shmyrev, visiting memorable places in Vitebsk.
