From June 7 to 10, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a preventive event "Drunk and Unlicensed Drivers Have No Place on the Road!". Its aim is to identify and suppress traffic violations by intoxicated individuals, including pedestrians and cyclists. Traffic police patrols have been switched to an enhanced duty mode.
Special "Filter" and "Web" events are planned across the country. The republican public safety monitoring system's capabilities are also used to identify violations. Traffic police crews are positioned near recreation areas, retail outlets, and entertainment venues operating 24/7.Raid groups of the "Strela" special unit of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been dispatched to the most accident-prone regions. Officers are focused on a principled assessment of the actions of individuals committing gross traffic violations.
Accident analysis indicates that a significant number of road traffic accidents occur with the involvement of intoxicated individuals, as well as due to unlicensed drivers. Since the beginning of the year, traffic police officers have identified over 4,600 instances of driving vehicles while intoxicated._
