"The Joy of the Word," organised by the Publishing House of the Belarusian Exarchate since 2011, has already visited not only many cities in our country but also Ukraine and Russia. As part of the "Days of Orthodox Writing," dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' and the 1150th anniversary of the creation of the Slavic alphabet, this exhibition-fair will be held in our city from November 26 to December 1 in the exhibition pavilion on the town square.
Residents of Lepel will be able to familiarise themselves with facsimile editions of book masterpieces of medieval spiritual culture of Belarus, published by the Publishing House of the Belarusian Exarchate (the "Polotsk Gospel" of the late 12th - early 13th centuries, the "Slutsk Gospel" of the 16th century, the "Life of Blessed Euphrosyne, Abbess of the Monastery in the town of Polotsk" of the 12th century). As part of the exhibition, events of the republican spiritual and educational programme "Family – Unity – Fatherland" will be held. One of the discussions of the "Orthodox Lecture Hall" will be a conversation with high school students about love and marriage. The "Literary Lounge of the 'Voskreseniye' Newspaper" at the central library on November 28 will be hosted by Elena Mikhalenko, the editor-in-chief of this spiritual and educational publication. Lepel residents will also have a meeting at the library on November 29 with Vitaly Lyubetsky, a well-known screenwriter and director of the feature films "Parables" and "Parables-2." The event will conclude with a concert by the male vocal ensemble "Blagovest" at the district House of Culture on November 30.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Admission is free. By the way, visitors will be able to ask pressing questions to the duty priest.
