To enhance the cognitive interest of primary school students in ecology, the Lepel District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, in conjunction with the class teacher of the 2nd "V" grade of the I.M. Yerashov Gymnasium in Lepel, organised an engaging event – Ecology Week. The students were presented with a Rainbow Week:
Tuesday – Green Planet Day;
Wednesday – Blue Sky and Blue Water Day;
Thursday – Yellow Sun Day;
Friday – Red Book Day.
On each of these days, the children were required to wear an item of clothing, bows, or ties of the corresponding colour.
During these themed days, the young citizens gained knowledge about the connection between Humans and Nature, and the necessity of caring for the environment and natural resources.
This event was a colourful, spring-like occasion. The young residents of Lepel, dressed in vibrant attire, actively and enthusiastically supported the idea, making the event festive, cheerful, and heartwarming.
Indeed, kindness, care, and a gentle attitude towards all living things should be instilled from childhood. Holding environmentally focused events within school walls will allow the younger generation to enrich their knowledge of the surrounding world, develop and enhance their interest in ecological issues, and the importance of preserving the beauty and diversity of life on Earth.
