Water misting frames of human height will be installed for the first time in Vitebsk, reported Andrey Shcherbenok, head of the energy service of the Vitebskvodokanal branch of UP Vitebskoblvodokanal.
The exact locations for the frames are still being determined. It is expected that they will appear in the city centre, on Suvorov Street. They will be over 2 metres high, allowing people of any height to pass through freely. This project is being implemented in the regional centre on the initiative of the city administration.It will be comfortable for people to walk through the frames and cool down during high summer temperatures, and it will be interesting and fun for children to run around the objects.
Vitebsk has thoroughly prepared for the fountain season. By the way, on April 29, some of the fountains were already switched on in test mode for a couple of hours. This refers to the "dandelions" on Victory Square, which were operating during the ceremony of honouring the winners of the 2022 competition on the Boards of Honour. In total, the enterprise has 16 facilities under its balance and maintenance.
Vitebskvodokanal reminds residents and guests of the city that children should not be bathed or people should not enter the fountains. There are risks, both in terms of electrical safety and the possibility of contracting various infections, as stray animals may visit the facilities. In addition, in the fountains on Kalinin Street, where outdoor catering facilities are organised nearby in the summer, people have even managed to wash dishes.
Fountains are not intended for this purpose. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!
