A criminal case was considered against a citizen of the Russian Federation who committed an offense under Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In May 2018, and then in October 2018, the citizen of the Russian Federation was convicted by the Lepel District Court under Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus to arrest. Subsequently, he was warned of criminal liability if he returned to the Republic of Belarus before the expiry of the established period, and was expelled from the Republic of Belarus. He stayed in the Russian Federation for a certain period, but decided to return in February 2019 to the village of Borovka to visit his mother and stepfather. After arriving home, he stayed at home all the time and did not communicate with strangers. He decided to go to the town of Lepel to find out the bus schedule to the city of Smolensk. Before leaving, he consumed alcoholic beverages and was detained in the town of Lepel by officers of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the judicial investigation, the citizen of the Russian Federation fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented.
The Lepel District Court found the citizen of the Russian Federation guilty of committing an offense under Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 1 year of imprisonment.
