Criminal case considered against a native of the village of Zadori, Lepel district, who committed a crime under Article 185 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In the evening, on one of the November days, a native of the village of Zadori, while intoxicated and on the grounds of suddenly arising hostile personal relations with his wife, intending to force her to perform certain actions, namely, to go with him to the room and sleep with him, by exerting psychological influence on her and suppressing her will, without the intent to commit murder or cause grievous bodily harm, holding various objects in his hands, repeatedly uttered verbal threats of murder and violence against his wife, and to confirm the seriousness of his intentions, pressed the objects to parts of his wife's body. When his wife ran out of the house, he caught up with her in the household plot and forced her to return to the house.
The native of the village of Zadori explained that he was drinking in the evening on his day off. Seeing that his wife had gone to sleep on the sofa with their minor son, he began to demand that she go to sleep with him. However, his wife shouted that she would not go to sleep with him, so he started running to the kitchen and taking various kitchen utensils, with which he tried to inflict bodily harm, shouting and threatening his wife that he would kill her. His wife ran out of the house, he ran after her, caught up with her, and brought her back into the house.
During the preliminary investigation and court proceedings, the native of the village of Zadori fully admitted his guilt in the committed act.
The court of Lepel district found the man guilty of committing a crime provided for by Article 185 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 200 hours of community service.
