A criminal case was considered against a native of Lepel who committed a crime under Part 3 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

Previously convicted for evading child support, a native of Lepel born in 1974, was obligated by a court order to pay alimony for the maintenance of his minor son K, born in 2007. From May 2018 to October 2019, he intentionally evaded payment of funds for the maintenance of his minor son for more than three months within a year. He was not officially employed anywhere, took no measures to find employment, pay off the debt, or make payments for his son's maintenance, resulting in an alimony debt of 16 months. This significantly violated his children's constitutional right to a decent standard of living, including adequate food, clothing, housing, and the continuous improvement of the necessary conditions for this.

During the preliminary and judicial investigation, the native of Lepel fully admitted his guilt in the committed act and sincerely repented.

The court of Lepel District found the native of Lepel guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 3 months of arrest.

This sentence of the court of Lepel District has entered into legal force.
