A criminal case was considered against a native of Lepel who committed a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In mid-July 2019, a previously unconvicted native of Lepel visited the victim Z., who had guests at the time. Joining the company, they began to drink alcoholic beverages together. Afterwards, the native of Lepel went home. On the way, he saw a road bicycle belonging to the victim parked near the house and decided to steal it for subsequent sale to purchase alcoholic beverages. Taking the bicycle, he rolled it into the basement of his house. Later, the victim Z. came to him with his acquaintance and began to ask about his bicycle. The native of Lepel did not confess to the theft. Subsequently, police officers arrived, to whom he later confessed to stealing his acquaintance's bicycle.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the court investigation, the native of Lepel fully admitted his guilt in stealing the bicycle.
The court of Lepel District found the native of Lepel guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 180 hours of community service.
