In Belarus, the amounts of state benefits for families raising children will increase by 3% from November this year, BELTA was informed by the main department of employment policy and population of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. This is due to the approval of a new subsistence minimum budget per capita (from November 1, 2010, to January 31, 2011, it will amount to Br283,050). Thus, from November 1 of the current year, the monthly childcare allowance for a child under three years of age will be Br283,050, and for a child over three years of age - Br84,920. The lump-sum benefit for the birth of the first child will reach Br1,415,250, and for the birth of the second and subsequent children, Belarusian families will receive Br1,981,350. The lump-sum benefit for women who registered with a state healthcare organization before the 12th week of pregnancy will amount to Br283,050 from November this year. In Belarus, the state benefits system covers about 440,000 boys and girls under 18 years of age (25.3% of the country's child population). In January-October of the current year, compared to the same period last year, the average monthly state childcare allowance for children under three years of age increased by 37%, and for children over three years of age - by 9.6%. It should be recalled that in accordance with the Decree of the President, from January 1, 2010, the amount of the monthly allowance for children under three years of age was increased from 80% to 100% of the subsistence minimum budget.
