The implementation of the "Smart Cities of Belarus" project was discussed in Vitebsk

The off-site seminar "Smart Cities of Belarus" was held at the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications. The seminar was attended by the Minister of Communications and Informatization, Konstantin Shulgan, the Minister of Education, Andrei Ivanchenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Belous, and representatives of the ministries overseeing the project implementation.

Konstantin Shulgan spoke about the prospects of the "Smart City".

– The implementation of this "project of the future" has been approved by the President of Belarus. Nothing will stop digitalization, just as nothing will stop progress. The project needs to be implemented with the greatest efficiency for all sectors of the economy and citizens. This will allow them to save their personal time and live and act in the most comfortable conditions. The Ministry of Communications will hold similar events regularly to find individual applications for technologies in the regions, – noted Konstantin Shulgan.

The structure of the diverse "Smart City" platform includes the "My City" application, which allows users to quickly find the necessary information, as well as professional services of enterprises, for example, postal services. An example is the experimental implementation of the "Mobile Postman" application in Orsha.

The "Smart City" technologies will be implemented in settlements that have been designated by the President as cities of accelerated socio-economic development. To implement the project, qualified technical specialists and competent managers who will assess this process at the proper level are primarily needed, the minister emphasized.
