In January-August of the current year, the nominal accrued average monthly wage in the budget sector industries in Belarus amounted to Br882.7 thousand, BELTA was informed by the National Statistical Committee. The average wage of public sector employees in August 2010 was Br947.8 thousand. The real wage of employees of budgetary organizations in January-August of the current year increased by 7.6% compared to the same period last year. In healthcare organizations, the average wage in August was Br979.2 thousand, including for doctors - Br1,614.4 thousand, and for mid-level medical personnel - Br950 thousand. The average earnings in educational institutions were Br802.8 thousand, including for teachers - Br896.6 thousand, and for the teaching staff - Br1,528.2 thousand. In organizations of science and scientific services, this indicator was Br1,731.4 thousand, including in institutions conducting research work - Br1,682.5 thousand, of which in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus - Br1,481.4 thousand. Belstat noted that in organizations of culture and arts, the average wage in August was Br874.8 thousand. For employees of physical culture and sports organizations, the average earnings reached Br1,428 thousand. As previously reported by BELTA, the nominal accrued average monthly wage of employees in Belarus (excluding small businesses of non-state ownership) in January-August of the current year amounted to Br1,149.6 thousand. The average August wage of employees increased by 0.3% (by Br4.1 thousand) compared to July and amounted to Br1,286.9 thousand. The real wage (calculated taking into account the growth of consumer prices for goods and services) in January-August of the current year increased by 10% compared to January-August 2009. At industrial enterprises in Belarus, the average wage in August of the current year was Br1,422.2 thousand, which is 10.5% higher than the national average wage. -0-
