District election commissions will register candidates for deputies of the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation of the National Assembly from October 8 to 17, BelTA reports.
Election campaigning for the parliamentary elections in Belarus will start in mid-October after the registration of candidates for deputies. The day after its completion, district election commissions will hold a draw among candidates to determine the date and time of their speeches on state radio and TV.
Speeches by candidates for deputies on radio and television will take place from October 21 to November 6 on weekdays. Radio speeches will be from 7:00 to 8:00 AM, television speeches (they will be accompanied by subtitles or sign language interpretation) - from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Airtime for candidates running in Minsk will be allocated by "Radio-Minsk", channel "Belarus 3", for the Minsk region - radio station "Minskaya Volna", STV. Those nominated in other regions will be provided with time by the respective regional television and radio companies.
For TV debates, airtime is reserved at a rate of no more than five minutes per candidate. The procedure for organizing and conducting debates, their dates and the host are determined by the television and radio companies.
Candidates for parliamentary seats have the right to publish their election program either in one of the republican newspapers ("Zvyazda", "Respublika"), or in the relevant regional newspaper, or in district and city newspapers published in their constituency. Candidates must submit the text to the media no later than October 27.
Elections to the House of Representatives are scheduled for November 17, and to the Council of the Republic - for November 7.
