In doing so, attention was focused on the inadmissibility of violating fire safety regulations, smoking outside specially designated areas, and the necessity of maintaining electrical equipment and appliances, including those for cooking, in good working order. Officials from the enterprises and commandants were present in each dormitory, who during the raid noted and, where possible, immediately rectified minor violations. Rescuers also reminded that tenants bear responsibility for violations of fire safety rules in dormitory residential premises, and that ensuring safety depends not only on officials and heads of organizations but also on the residents themselves.
