To ensure fire safety during the harvesting campaign and prevent loss of life at water bodies, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations conducted preventive raids on agricultural facilities and public recreation areas on weekends.
During agricultural work in the fields, rescuers checked the completeness of harvesting equipment with primary fire extinguishing means, as well as the knowledge of employees regarding compliance with fire safety rules. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted additional fire safety briefings on the rules for using primary fire extinguishing means, as well as actions in case of a fire occurring or being detected.
Also, during the raid on water bodies, rescuers conducted explanatory work with holidaymakers, during which citizens learned about the basic rules of conduct at water bodies. Rescuers told children about safety measures during the summer holidays, reminded them how to behave correctly when relaxing in the forest, during thunderstorms, and at home. With adults, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees held a preventive conversation, during which parents learned about the importance of teaching their children safety rules and monitoring their leisure time during the summer holidays.
Rescuers also spoke about the rules of safe behavior on the water, basic techniques for assisting victims, and gave examples of accidents at water bodies. All participants of the event received educational visual materials.
Rescuers remind: to ensure fire safety and preserve the valuable harvest for the entire country, all grain harvesting equipment and each grain drying complex must be equipped with primary fire extinguishing means, and personnel must be able to apply skills in working with a fire extinguisher in practice and know the algorithm of actions in case of a fire. Also, smoking and welding and other open flame work are prohibited in areas where grain crops are harvested and stored!
