Novopolotsk, Orsha and Beshenkovichi District top the rating of cities and districts of the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. According to the results of the rating assessment of the performance of chairmen of city and district executive committees in fulfilling the assigned socio-economic development indicators, Novopolotsk took first place, Orsha - second, and Vitebsk - third. In terms of agricultural indicators, the top three leaders are Beshenkovichi District, Verkhnedvinsk District and Orsha District. At the beginning of the current year, the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Kosinets, instructed to develop a system for assessing the socio-economic development of the region's districts and cities and, based on this, to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of the local power vertical. The assessment scale includes more than four dozen indicators characterizing the economic and financial situation, and the state of affairs in the social sphere of the administrative-territorial unit. For example, four criteria have been introduced for a comprehensive assessment of foreign economic activity. The situation in the social sphere is assessed based on the state of affairs with offenses and industrial injuries. Work with citizens' appeals and the dynamics of justified complaints are also among the evaluated aspects. In January-November of the current year, the generalizing parameter of the region's economic activity - gross regional product - amounted to 107.7%, the Economics Committee reported. By the end of 2012, this indicator is expected to be 112% compared to last year. Revenue from the sale of products (goods, works and services) per employee in 2012 will be almost $58 thousand. Inventory in the region does not exceed 30% of the average monthly production volume. This is approximately 2 times less than the average for the republic.-0-
