Power outages affecting homes, not only in remote areas but also in cities, occur quite frequently. They happen due to emergency situations, planned maintenance and technical work, or line failures. The most inconvenient aspect is that if the electricity goes out, the operation of an energy-dependent gas boiler is paralyzed.
Power outages are usually rectified in the shortest possible time; however, prolonged disruptions in electricity supply cannot be ruled out. In such cases, a gasoline generator is the best choice as a backup power source for your gas boiler. This device will ensure your gas boiler operates stably after a power outage.
Also, in case of prolonged power outages, it is recommended to prepare the following items:
• flashlights with spare batteries or hand-crank flashlights that do not require batteries;
• a battery-powered radio with spare batteries;
• food and bottled water for each family member;
• a phone that works without electricity;
• extra blankets and warm clothing.
Use flashlights for emergency lighting. If you use candles, never leave them burning when you leave the room or go to sleep.
Turn off all electrical appliances to prevent power surges when electricity is restored.
In case of voltage fluctuations in the power grid of your house (apartment) or a power outage, immediately disconnect all electrical appliances and unplug them from the sockets. This is to prevent a fire in your absence due to a sudden restoration of electricity. Exercise extreme caution when using household candles for lighting your apartment.
When outdoors, do not approach broken or sagging wires closer than 5-8 meters, and do not touch them. If a wire breaks and falls near you, exit the danger zone by taking small steps or jumping (keeping your feet together) to avoid electrocution from step voltage.
If the water supply system runs dry, close all taps that were previously open. Use commercially available drinking water for cooking.
