The main causes of emergencies in residential buildings continue to be careless handling of fire, violation of the rules for operating stoves and electrical equipment, as well as children's pranks with fire. In most cases, fire incidents are the result of carelessness and disregard for safety regulations.
The main objective of the campaign is to draw citizens' attention to the problem of fires and deaths from them, as well as to conduct extensive explanatory work among the population on preventing emergencies. The campaign events will be held in five stages.
The first stage of the campaign will take place from January 20 to 26, where employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) will pay special attention to preventive work with individuals abusing alcohol and leading an antisocial lifestyle.
Participants of the second stage of the campaign, which will be held from January 27 to February 2, will be visitors of day care departments at territorial social service centres for the population. The main focus when working with the elderly, pensioners, and lonely individuals will be on conducting preventive discussions and training on proper actions in case of an emergency.

From February 10 to 14, as part of the fourth stage, rescuers will meet with students of the Lepel State Agrarian-Technical College, as well as with final-year students of the city and district. During the events, forms of work such as discussions and game programs, competitions, quizzes, and demonstrations of educational films will be used.
