With the aim of preventing fires and deaths from them, from January 18 to February 19, the Lepel district will host the republican campaign "Safety – Into Every Home!".
The main causes of emergencies in residential areas remain careless handling of fire, violation of the rules for operating heating stoves and electrical equipment, as well as children’s playing with fire. In most cases, fire incidents are the result of carelessness and disregard for safety regulations.
The main objective of the campaign is to draw citizens' attention to the problem of fires and deaths from them, as well as to conduct extensive explanatory work among the population on preventing emergencies. The campaign events will be held in five stages.
The first stage of the campaign will take place from January 18 to January 22, where Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) employees will pay special attention to preventive work with individuals abusing alcohol and leading an antisocial lifestyle.
Participants of the second stage of the campaign, which will be held from January 25 to January 29, will be visitors of day care departments at territorial social service centres. The main focus when working with the elderly, pensioners, and lonely individuals will be on conducting preventive talks and teaching correct actions in case of an emergency.
From February 1 to February 5, as part of the third stage, rescuers will meet with students of the Lepel State Agrarian-Technical College, as well as with final-year students of the city and district. During the events, forms of work such as talks and game programs, contests, quizzes, and demonstration of educational films will be used.
The fourth stage of the campaign will take place from February 8 to February 12 in sanatoriums, enterprises, and organizations of the city and district.
The final event of the campaign will be held from February 15 to February 19 at the "Univermag" store in the city of Lepel, where rescuers will set up educational platforms to once again remind the residents of Lepel region about safety rules, and will also hold thematic quizzes, contests, lotteries, etc.
Activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers and Firefighters (BMOOSP), members of young rescuer-firefighter clubs, students, and employees of other interested organizations will join the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) in conducting the campaign.
During the events, the main focus will be on the prevention and warning of fires in residential buildings. Rescuers will provide information on the fire situation and fatalities, explain the main causes of fires, and clarify rules and requirements for personal safety. Special attention will be paid to the rules for operating stove heating and electrical equipment, the inadmissibility of leaving children unattended, the installation of fire detection devices in households, knowledge of the use of primary firefighting equipment, and actions in case of a fire.
We invite everyone who cares about their own safety to participate in the campaign!
