On March 1, the world community celebrates the World Civil Defence Day, which is designed to inform the public about the tasks of civil defence services and promote their activities in protecting the population, material assets, and the environment.

In Belarus, this day is traditionally dedicated to protecting children from emergencies. The issue of population protection in the event of an emergency deserves special attention, as emergencies always pose a real threat to people's lives and health. And children are more vulnerable to dangers in such circumstances than others due to a lack of specific knowledge and practical skills.

With the aim of fostering a culture of life safety and conducting educational and upbringing work with the younger generation in the field of protection from natural and man-made emergencies, a preventive campaign "Safety Day. Attention All!" will be held from March 1 to March 17, dedicated to World Civil Defence Day.

The campaign will be held in two stages. From March 1 to March 6, as part of the first stage, a unified civil defence day will take place in educational institutions of Lepel district, with thematic "Safety Lessons" and evacuation drills.

From March 9 to March 17, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will actively participate in parent-teacher meetings, delivering thematic lectures on ensuring safe living. Adults will be informed about the main causes of fires, actions upon the "Attention All!" signal, and reminded about children's adherence to safety rules during the spring holidays.
