With the aim of drawing public attention to the problem of child injuries and fatalities from fires due to being left unattended, a preventive campaign "Focus on Children!" will be held from August 22 to September 30, timed to coincide with Knowledge Day. The campaign will be held in three stages:
- Stage 1 – August 22-31. Venue: Central Department Store of Lepel (places selling children's clothing and stationery);
- Stage 2 – September 1-16. Venue: Educational institutions of Lepel District;
- Stage 3 – September 19-23. Venue: Preschool institutions of Lepel District.
Employees of the District Department for Emergency Situations, the Department of Education, the editorial office of the newspaper "Lepelsky Krai", Lepel District Television "Lepel TV", members of young firefighter rescuer clubs, and activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Fire Rescuers will participate in the campaign. In general education institutions, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct thematic "Safety Lessons", make presentations at parent-teacher meetings, and provide briefings for teaching staff.
