With the aim of attracting the attention of the general public to the problems of domestic violence, explaining to citizens the necessity of assisting state bodies in minimizing the consequences of offenses committed on this basis, and clarifying the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of January 4, 2014 "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities", a republican preventive campaign "A Home Without Violence!" will be held in the Lepel district from April 15 to April 26, 2018.

Goal: to involve the general public in providing assistance and support to state bodies in solving the problems of domestic violence, by applying individual crime prevention measures to persons with antisocial behavior.

Objectives:
1. To disseminate information about the capabilities of state bodies and public associations in solving the problems of domestic violence, and the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of January 4, 2014 "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities".
2. To take preventive measures against persons who have committed domestic violence.

As part of this event, specialists from the ministries of internal affairs, labor and social protection, housing and communal services, information, education, healthcare, culture, as well as various organizations and public associations inform citizens about the legal norms in force in this area; assistance provided to victims of violence; and the operation of helplines and hotlines.

The "A Home Without Violence" campaign was first held in April 2013 and has already received a positive response from all interested government bodies.

In addition, from April 16, 2014, the new Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities" came into legal force. It should be noted that this is not an amendment to an existing Law, but a completely new Law.

The innovations affected:

- optimization of preventive registration;
- a number of obligations for persons subject to prevention have changed;
- a number of new measures have been adopted to prevent domestic violence, primarily a protective order;
- the focus of the preventive work carried out is concentrated on practical measures with citizens who systematically commit offenses in the "domestic" sphere and while intoxicated.

It should be noted that the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs regularly conducts comprehensive measures to prevent antisocial behavior of citizens in the sphere of family and domestic relations.

In order to prevent serious consequences of family and domestic conflicts, 1 criminal case of a preventive nature has been initiated against persons violating the rights of other family members. Of these: 1 – for threat of murder, 11 persons abusing alcoholic beverages have been sent to the LTP.
