With the aim of attracting the attention of broad sections of the population to the problems of domestic violence and family dysfunction, explaining to citizens the necessity of assisting state bodies in minimising the consequences of offences committed on this basis, and clarifying the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of 4 January 2014 No. 122-Z, as amended by the Law of 04 January 2022 No. 151-Z "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities", the main stage of the republican preventive campaign "A Home Without Violence!" will be held in the Lepel district from 3 to 7 April 2023.

As part of this event, employees of the internal affairs bodies of the Lepel District Executive Committee and specialists from the Department for Labour, Employment and Social Protection, the Education Department, the State Healthcare Institution "Lepel Central Regional Hospital", as well as various organisations and public associations will inform citizens about the legal norms in force in this area, the assistance provided to victims of violence, the operation of helplines, and other relevant information.
The "A Home Without Violence!" campaign was first held in April 2013 and over the years has received positive feedback from all interested parties involved in crime prevention. Its annual holding is included in the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in the Republic of Belarus for 2021–2025, approved by the Council of Ministers.
Since 12 July 2022, amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Fundamentals of Crime Prevention Activities" have entered into force. The main change, which allows for timely preventive measures to be taken against domestic abusers, is the registration of the aggressor on record after the first administrative offence for committing a family-related offence. The Department of Internal Affairs consists of 118 individuals who have been brought to administrative responsibility for offences in the sphere of family and domestic relations, whereas before the amendments came into force, there were 40.It is also worth noting that the procedure for applying a protective order has been changed. This preventive measure can now be applied at the stage of preparing for the consideration of an administrative offence case, as well as during an inspection in accordance with the requirements of the criminal procedure legislation or an initiated criminal case, i.e., immediately after the commission of the offence.
It should be noted that the Lepel Department of Internal Affairs regularly conducts comprehensive measures to prevent unlawful behaviour of citizens in the sphere of family and domestic relations.
