Participants will come not only from Belarus to the open championship, but guests from Russia (Moscow and Novgorod regions) are also expected. A total of about 13-15 teams will take part, including those competing outside the official standings. Young men and women born in 2001-2004 will compete for prizes.
The programme includes an individual classic style race, a skate sprint, and cross-country running. The winning team will receive a cup, while other participants will receive medals and diplomas. Additionally, a seminar with sports school coaches will be organised at this year's Spartakiad.
"Belarus hosts three such competitions annually: two stages in winter and a summer championship. Since 2015 (after the roller ski track was introduced), all stages of the Spartakiad have been held in Horadok. Now, about 200 athletes will come to us," said Viktor Bobkov. "Such competitions are very important, as they provide an opportunity to review school rankings, assess their training levels, and discuss sports-related issues and future plans with coaches."
The roller ski track is located in the Vorobyovy Gory tract. It was opened in 2015. The track loops are 7.5 km, 5 km, 3 km, 2.5 km, and 1.5 km long. The track width is 7 m. It is the largest among Belarusian tracks. The maximum elevation difference is 28 m. The number of ascents and descents varies across different distances.
