On November 25, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. The Presidential Administration of Belarus, jointly with the State Control Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the State Security Council Secretariat, will conduct a nationwide monitoring of the performance of state bodies in handling citizens' and legal entities' applications from November 28 to December 2. The monitoring will be carried out in accordance with the Head of State's instructions, as reported to BelTA by the Presidential Administration. During this period, seven interdepartmental working groups will operate in all regions of the republic. They will be led by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Vladimir Makei (Minsk), the State Security Council Secretary, Leonid Maltsev (Minsk Region), the Chairman of the State Control Committee, Alexander Yakobson (Gomel Region), the Prosecutor General, Alexander Konyuk (Grodno Region), the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Valery Mitskevich (Brest Region), the Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee, Alexander Ageev (Mogilev Region), and the Deputy Prosecutor General, Nikolai Kuklis (Vitebsk Region). The heads and members of the interdepartmental groups will travel to districts, hold citizens' receptions, meet with work collectives, and verify the implementation of the Head of State's instructions given on November 9, 2010, at a meeting on improving the efficiency of handling citizens' applications. "Considering that a year has passed since the meeting and the signing of the protocol of instructions, the focus will be on the effectiveness and promptness of decisions made by local authorities on the most pressing and priority issues of public life," the Administration noted. The working group members will concentrate on the most acute issues highlighted by the Head of State during the meeting. This will not only help resolve specific problems faced by people but, more importantly, will identify malfunctioning mechanisms and their causes, as well as the reasons for the increase in the number of citizens' applications. Furthermore, during the monitoring, issues of concern to the population will be studied and resolved within the available capabilities. The group leaders and their deputies will inspect the most problematic facilities, travel to verify information on-site if necessary, and strive to promptly and maximally resolve everyday issues. During the same period, the Assistants to the President of Belarus, who serve as chief inspectors for the regions and Minsk, will directly meet with citizens in two to three districts each within their respective regions and provide assistance in resolving pressing problems whenever possible.
