A republican seminar titled "The History of the Formation and Development of Notaries in Belarus" will be held at Polotsk State University (PSU) on July 9, the university informed BELTA.
Specialists from all regions of the country will participate in the seminar. Participants will examine issues related to the origins of notaries as a legal institution in Belarusian lands in the 14th-16th centuries and its functioning in subsequent centuries. Aspects of the work of notaries in the Vitebsk, Mogilev, and Brest regions in the 19th-20th centuries will be discussed separately.
In addition, during the seminar, an agreement on cooperation in education, science, and practice and the establishment of a regional educational, scientific, and practical legal centre between the Faculty of Law of PSU and the Belarusian Notary Chamber will be signed.
The seminar is organised by the Belarusian Notary Chamber, the Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University, and the regional educational, scientific, and practical legal centre.
