November 08, Lepel /Own. inf./. The red brick building on Sovetskaya Street, which until recently housed the Center for Children's Creativity, is preparing for a transformation and a new status – a local history museum. It dates back to the late nineteenth century. Since 1929, it housed a pedagogical college, and during the war years, it was the Gestapo headquarters.
The building is of historical and cultural value. One billion four hundred million rubles have been allocated from the district budget. The restoration began with the roof – one of the most costly parts. The general contractor is PMK-75, and a team of nine people is working. It is too early to talk about the completion of the restoration. The funding program has not yet been formed. The situation will become clearer after the New Year.
